 QPR manager Neil Warnock heralded the start of a new era after his overhauled side outclassed Newcastle but failed to crown their dominance with a winning goal.

MAS, Air Asia in QPR jersey deal


LONDON: Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia both announced their respective sponsorships of English Premier League club Queens Park Rangers’ home and away jerseys respectively yesterday.
The announcement, made at Loftus Road, will see MAS sponsoring the team’s kit for the home matches while the AirAsia logo will be emblazoned on the team’s jerseys for the away matches.

Aug. 18 - Tony Fernandes, chief executive officer of Malaysia's AirAsia Bhd, talks about his purchase of English Premier League soccer club Queens Park Rangers.

Fernandes's Tune Group is buying a 66 percent stake in the club from Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone and his partner Flavio Briatore, with the balance retained by metals billionaire Lakshmi Mittal's family.

KUALA LUMPUR Aug 17 - AirAsia group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes is close to buying a 51 per cent controlling stake in the English Premier League Football Club, Queens Park Rangers (QPR), according to several reports today.

QPR are set to confirm that Tony Fernandes is joining the club’s board.  Fernandes has been in talks with Flavio Briatore for some time and could become a major shareholder as part of the deal, the details of which were still being discussed on Wednesday.
